I work abstractly and intuitively, drawing from nature and inspired by my materials. My work is often colorful and whimsical. As I clean up my studio bringing order to chaos, I gather materials for an art piece. Inspired by what I find…paper, wire, beads, buttons, string, fabric, hand marked papers for collage, pages from old books, rusty metal. A handful of string, a key from an old forgotten door. Photographs. Paint and paper. Ink, pencils, glue. This is my mixed media. Layer upon layer upon layer. Serendipity certainly plays its part. I play and explore, opening myself to the creative energy of the universe. And do its dance. Peeling off my layers until only the truth exists.
