The Lodi Open Studios Tour gives the public the opportunity to view local artists in their working environment and to purchase fine art & craft directly from artists in their studios. Artists benefit by sharing their work with a wider audience, providing educational opportunities for the community, and participating with other local artists to bring more awareness to the diverse population of artists and studio spaces around Lodi.

About Open Studios

The Lodi Open Studios Tour offers a wonderful opportunity for art enthusiasts to witness local artists in action and purchase fine art & craft directly from local artists. By opening their studios to the public for this magical weekend, artists are able to get their work in front of a broader audience, connect with the community to impart their unique creative wisdom, forge relationships with fellow artists, and contribute to the energy of Arts & Culture in Lodi!


As you explore the open studios, you’ll have the chance to engage directly with artists, witness their creative process and gain insight into the method & motivation behind their works.

Artist Registration

    • March 1, 2024: Early Bird Registration Opens

    • June 1, 2024: Registration fee increase to $75

    • June 30, 2024: ALL Applications Due

    • July 2024: Artists notified of acceptance

    • September 2024: Open Studios Artist Workshop

    • August 2024: Print Catalogue available for distribution

    • October 18, 2024: Preview Exhibition, 7-9p at Double Dip Gallery

    • October 19-20, 2024: Open Studio Tours, 11a-5p

    • Early Bird Registration (March 1-May 31): $50

    • Late Registration (June 1- June 30): $75

    • The Lodi Open Studios Tour will be presented as a self-guided tour open to the public. Patrons are invited to visit artists’ workspaces not normally open to the public.

    • The tour will take place on the weekend of October 19th and 20th of 2024, with a pre tour reception on the evening of October 18th at Double Dip Gallery.

    • Studio visits will occur during the day from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on October 19th and 20th.

    • The boundary of the tour area will consist of the Lodi Unified School District boundary. This includes areas surrounding Lodi such as Morada, Lockeford, North Stockton, and beyond.

    • Applicants should be 18 years of age or older.

    • The event will be promoted through a high-quality print directory with a studio tour map, social media marketing, website, and networking through local art organizations, tourism bureaus, hotels, wineries, and local businesses.

    • The tour will showcase artists and crafters with a wide range of mediums and styles to highlight the diverse range of creatives within our community.

    • Participation in the studio tours is intended for artists who are actively producing and showing fine art and craft.

    • Participants are encouraged to show a majority of original artworks and crafts. Prints, stickers, and other merchandise should be limited to less than 50% of the volume of work offered for view and purchase.

    • To ensure the quality of art and craft presented, applications will be screened by a jury.

    • All completed applications are due online or in person by 5:00 PM on June 30th, 2024, to the Lodi Community Art Center: 110 W. Pine St., Lodi, CA.

    • Incomplete or vague applications will not be reviewed.

    • Accepted applicants will be notified in mid-July 2024, via email.

    • A participation fee is required by each accepted applicant to be included in the open studios tour, including artists who apply together and plan to share a studio. Applicants who apply before June 1st, 2024 will be charged a $50 participation fee. Late applicants who apply between June 1st and June 30th will be charged a $75 participation fee.

    • Accepted participants are encouraged to attend a forum on studio set-up and work presentation one month prior to the event. Date and location to be announced.

    • All are invited to attend a preview reception to be held at Double Dip Gallery on October 18th from 7-9p.

    • Artists and crafters must be 18 years of age or older.

    • Artists must have a space secured to show their work within the boundary of the Lodi Unified

    • School District. Artists who work from their homes and do not wish to invite the public to their private residence are encouraged to team up with a local business or venue. Artists are responsible for securing their own venue with the business owner’s permission.

    • Artists may pair-up with others to jointly host in the same studio space. No more than 3 artists per venue.

    • Artists who plan to share studio space must apply together. Each artist must pay individually.

    • Artists must be available to participate on BOTH days of the event during the listed hours.

    • Artists and crafters should be able to showcase at least 15 pieces of high-quality original artwork.

    • A “studio environment” should be featured to show patrons the creation process. Artists and crafters are encouraged to leave out some of the mess illustrating how their works are created,

    • While some mess is encouraged, studios should be free of trip hazards, open chemical containers, or other dangers to the public.

    • Studios should be open, available, and clearly identifiable to open studios patrons during the event.

    • Artists are encouraged to host demonstrations, provide refreshments, hold artists’ talks, or other activities during the day.

    • Artists and crafters must agree not to exhibit, sell, or host non-participating artists during the event weekend in their space over which they have control.

    • Artists are encouraged to fill out an online application consisting of the following:

    • Application form

    • Resume (no more than one page)

    • Artist Statement

    • 3 to 5 digital images of current work in (JPEG or PNG file under 2MB)

    • Participation agreement.

    • Participation fee

      • March 1- May 31: $50

      • June 1 - June 30: $75

    • A participation fee must be paid when applying for inclusion in the Lodi Open Studios Tour. Participation fees are non-refundable. Any profit made from participation fees will be used to benefit future Lodi Open Studio Tours and art programs at the Lodi Community Art Center.
